At Plum Living we believe your privacy is of the utmost importance. With this in mind, we designed this privacy policy to inform you of how we collect and use your personal information.

This privacy policy is established and followed by Plum Lifestyle Ltd., operating as Plum Living and its affiliated companies, which market jewellery and other products through a variety of promotional campaigns. Our Privacy Policy is based on the Canadian Standards Association's "Model Code for the Protection of Personal Information" (the "CSA Model Code").The CSA Model Code also forms the basis for the Canadian federal government's privacy legislation, the "Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act" (PIPEDA), which came into effect on January 1, 2001. Plum Living reserves the right to revise and update this privacy statement at any time and any personal information collected will be subject to the version of the Privacy Policy in effect at the time of such collection. ACCEPTANCE OF PRIVACY POLICY

We want to communicate with you only if you want to communicate with us.

By using the Plum Living website, you signify your agreement to our privacy policy. If you do not consent to our use of your personal information as outlined in this privacy policy, you have two choices:

  1. You can elect not to purchase our product or service, in which case no personally identifiable information about you will be assembled or dealt with by Plum Living—or:

WHAT IS PERSONAL INFORMATION?

You may visit our website without revealing any personally identifiable information. However, in order to purchase goods or services through this website, you will be required to provide us with certain personally identifiable information.

However, this information is only retained by Plum Living until the customer's payment is processed, and is then purged from our records. It is never shared with anyone outside our organization, affiliates and service bureaus.

We collect personal information from our customers mainly during the initial purchase process. All of the personal identifying information we collect is provided to us voluntarily. Although some of the personal identifying information is necessary to deliver products and services (e.g., an address is required to buy products and services), some other information is circumstantial (e.g., your decision to purchase a product or service is an indication that you are interested in the kinds of products and services we offer or similar items, etc.). The personal information you provide to us may be combined with other information (such as demographic information and past purchase information) available from our records, from records compiled by our affiliated companies, and other sources.

We will not share personally identifiable information with any person outside of our associated companies and service bureaus if you follow the simple opt-out procedure described below. If an opt-out is not submitted, we will rely upon your consent to our use and disclosure of your personal information as set out in this policy.

However, this personal information is limited to information which you have voluntarily provided to us, such as your name and address, and to criteria regarding your potential interests and other demographic and geographic information. As noted above, no financial information we may obtain is ever provided to anyone outside the Sponsor's organization, affiliates and service bureaus.

WHY DO WE COLLECT PERSONAL INFORMATION?

We need to collect certain personal information from our customers in order to process and fulfill their purchases of products and services from us. For example, we need your full name and address to send your purchase to you, as well as financial information to process your payment for the items purchased.

This information may be used to inform you regarding Plum Living products and services including product updates, contests and surveys. As well, we may use the personal data we collect for systems administration and troubleshooting purposes, to analyze and improve our website's content and promotions, and to respond to your inquiries.

AGGREGATE INFORMATION

In addition to the above usages of personal information, we may also collect users' interests, demographics and purchasing behavior in order to improve the design and usability of our website and to improve the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns. Other information such as IP addresses and browser types may also be collected in order to generate non-identifying and aggregate profiles from personal information provided during registration.

Only authorized Plum Living (and affiliated company and service bureau) personnel have access to any stored personal information we collect from our customers. As noted, bank account or credit card information you submit to us is always deleted from our records once the payment for which it was provided has been processed and honored by your financial institution. As we evaluate new technologies for protecting information, we may upgrade our information security systems.

HOW TO OPT-OUT

Providing personally identifiable information to Plum Living is optional and you may withdraw your consent at any time. As noted earlier, some basic data is necessary to provide certain services, such as the confirmation and processing of client orders and responses to email inquiries. You have the right to opt-out of receiving communications from Plum Living. In order to opt-out, you may do either of the following:

DO WE COLLECT PERSONAL INFORMATION FROM CHILDREN?

Our products and services and our promotional activities relating to them are not intentionally targeted nor directed to persons under the age of eighteen. We do not intend to collect personally identifiable information from this age group. If we receive actual notice that a person under the age of eighteen has provided personal information to us, we will use reasonable efforts to remove such information from our database. However, we cannot be responsible for the submission to us of personal information by persons under the age of eighteen who do not advise us of their age, and we accept no liability for our inadvertent collection, use or disclosure of personal information from any person under the age of eighteen.
